A Study on the Management of Hypertensive Patients in a Urban Health Center

|
This study was conducted to know management situation of hypertensive patients utilizing a Public Health Center in urban area. Patients diagnosed as hypertension in a Public Health Center from 2001 to 2006 year were 3,854 persons. We surveyed 720 persons among these persons using telephone. Antihypertensive drug medication adherence of hypertensive patients was 92.1%. The non-smoking rate of male and female was 60.1% and 94.4%, respectively. Heart disease patients, kidney disease patients, and Diabetic mellitus were 4.7%, 2.9%, 14.6%, respectively. Antihypertensive drug medication adherence of hypertensive patients in urban area was higher than those in rural area. But their health behavior had many problems. The focus of hypertension management program on Public Health Center in urban area had to change health promotion program. We suggest hypertension management program should adopt Customer Relationship Management technique.
